Olga Wilhelmi is the GIS Initiative PI and a Project Scientist II in the Institute for the Study of Society and Environment (ISSE) at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado. Her research focuses on environment and society interactions; extreme weather and climate events; and the use of GIS in atmospheric sciences.
Jennifer Boehnert is the UCAR GIS Coordinator with a joint appointment between RAL and ISSE.
She has extensive experience and knowledge of GIS applications and GIS analysis methods. She has been working with a variety of GIS software for the past 10 years. Ms. Boehnert provides regular consultation to scientists and engineers on numerous projects.
Kevin Sampson is the newest edition to the GIS Program. Kevin holds a M.A. in Geography from CU, where he studied decadal-scale changes in surface climate on the Greenland Ice Sheet, specifically how temperature variations penetrate the snow/atmopshere interface. He is also interested in broader-scale climate change, the role of snow and ice in the climate system, and glacial flow as it relates to sea level rise. Kevin taught GIS and Remote Sensing as a graduate student and worked professionally in the environmental consulting field, serving government and private clients with GIS analysis for land use planning and environmental monitoring.
