Integrating GIS into Service-Oriented Architectures
Brian Bush

We will summarize our recent experience integrating GIS into service-oriented architectures (SOA). After outlining the various standards involved and highlighting several of the tools implementing these standards, we present overviews of architectural efforts involving these: (i) serving NCEP cyclogensis tracks in WFS/WMS/KML formats; (ii) similarly serving NCEP's GFDL and HWRF hurricane forecasts; (iii) experiments with spatial OLAP; (iv) and coordinating and visualizing infrastructure simulations.
