Progress on International Standards Related to Atmospheric Data Access
Ben Domenico UNIDATA
Several international standards groups are working on conventions, protocols and interfaces that have a bearing on our ability to make atmospheric data available to other communities. This is especially true for the groups who have traditionally used GIS tools, e.g, hydrology, biogeosciences, societal impacts and hazard response. These include ISO, the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) as well as the members of our own community involved in OPeNDAP, the Climate and Forecast Conventions, and the evolution of the netCDF. This talk provides an overview of the efforts underway and a recap of recent progress.
